Something of a summary page in a deeply buried subplot that's been weaving its way through the LIRverse for a few years now.

Or not.

The regular update schedule resumes a week from now. Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and see you in 2018!

This is a really cool way to do it, too.

Merry Christmas! Feels so good to say that, thank God Trump saved Christmas for us.

Sorry about that.

Whoa, digital acid trip!

I recognize some bits and pieces from elsewhere in the LIRverse - but the Sailor Moon reference leaves me baffled...

Also, merry Christmas!

When in doubt, copy-paste from the comments section...

Wow, so your comic gets quite meta! Or reader-interactive! Something in that direction...

Yes, there's an unfortunate amount of interplay between the created world and the world of its creators:

Prof, if you're out there, I can't restrain Tona anymore, you must defend your city.

Gosh, all this coding looks super cool

Hope y'all had some nice holiday fun!

Merry Christmas, and I'll soon be back in the subzero Midwest!

See the Turing test got a mention there. Weird to think we've already reached that point. Run_CEL for real might not be more than a decade off.

If you live thoroughly in the modern information age there's pretty solid evidence that current systems can pretty accurately predict your future actions and desires--when you need that next tank of gas, which restaurant you'll take your significant other to this weekend, your sexual preferences, your political bent, your likelihood of violent actions against strangers or the national interest.

It's only when people live concealed lives devoid of much of modern convenience (credit cards, navigation guidance, electronic funds transfer, and of course social fucking media) that the data aggregators' vision is clouded.
Cooke 29th Dec 2017, 7:26 AM edit delete reply
Yes, this is true, though that is based on aggregates and assumed patterned behaviour. And that didn't just start on the internet either. Club cards anyone?

But the fact that people have talked to an AI with the full assumption it was human. Now that's something else. We're just missing full autonomy and self awareness now. Yeesh!

Happy new year!!!
Wow, I missed many pages in (nightmarish and busy-busy) Holiday "break".

Wait, I thought this A.I. was dead!

Happy 2018 as well!

Nope! Runcel’s not dead, merely increasingly unhinged.
